Independent writing from Martin Lumen

Look closer.
The future is already here.

Essays, observations and reporting on technology, culture, artificial intelligence, media—and the quiet systems changing how we live.

00 / NOTE

A place for thoughtful work in a fast-moving world—made to be read, not merely scrolled.

No feed tricks. No manufactured urgency. Just ideas worth returning to.

THE JOURNAL

Writing, as it arrives.

Long-form essays, shorter field notes, interviews and analysis will collect here over time.

OPENING NOTE01

A beginning, not a backlog.

This journal is being built in public.

New work will appear here as it is published. The design is intentionally ready for a growing archive without filling the page with invented stories before they exist.

ESSAYCOMING

The next long-form piece will take this place.

FIELD NOTECOMING

Shorter observations will live here.

REPORTINGCOMING

Reporting and interviews will join the archive.

RECURRING QUESTIONS

What is changing?
Who does it change?

01

Artificial Intelligence

Models, agents, automation, intelligence and the human choices surrounding them.

02

Technology

Tools becoming infrastructure—and infrastructure becoming invisible.

03

Media & Attention

How information is framed, distributed, trusted and remembered.

04

Culture & Power

The values, incentives and institutions hidden inside everyday systems.

05

What Comes Next

Signals that feel small now but may become ordinary sooner than expected.

BOOKS

An empty shelf,
for now.

Future books will have a permanent home here. Until then, the shelf stays intentionally open.

ABOUT

Curiosity without a department.

Martin Lumen is a writer, blogger, journalist and technologist interested in the places where technology collides with human nature.

The work moves between analysis, observation, reporting and experimentation. The aim is not to predict every turn of the future, but to understand the forces already moving beneath the surface.

This site is an independent home for that work—built for readers who value curiosity, context and ideas that survive longer than a news cycle.
